Welcome to Hope children’s foundationHope children’s foundation is a Christian Children
Foundation, Private Not For Profit organization, founded in 1999 by Mr.
Kayemba Kalema, a civil engineer by profession. Having been a church
children teacher, his work involved a lot of movement across Kampala
(Uganda’s Capital). His major pastoral work was in the outskirt towns of
Kampala for example Makerere, Nansana, Kazo-Kawempe, Nabweru, Bwaise,
Kawaala, and Wakiso. He lived amongst these communities for 1 year and
realized that their challenges were of the same nature. The children
lacked the basics of life like food, shelter, clothing, including access
to clean safe water.
Others were school drop; many of them were orphans due to loss of
their parents mainly to HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and Cholera. This greatly
touched Mr.Kayemba Kalema and he believed if he couldn’t help them, then
no one would. He moved back home and shared his story with his wife and
children who encouraged him to bring these children home.
